...High Wind Watch For Sunday Afternoon And Evening For The Northwest Interior...

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for the northwest interior for later Sunday. This includes western Whatcom and Skagit counties... the San Juans... Whidbey Island and the Admiralty Inlet areas.

A strong low pressure system is expected to move into central British Columbia later Sunday. An associated strong front will move across the region Sunday evening. Strong southerly winds are expected to develop in advance of this front... then the wind will switch to a westerly direction and remain strong. Sustained wind speeds with this system could reach 40 mph with gusts potentially reaching 60 mph or better.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio... the official voice of the National Weather Service... for the latest statements and forecasts on this developing storm system.

YAHOO!!! HOLD ON!! (where do all the little birds go during strong winds???)
