I can't see this too many times!!
I have nothing whatsoever to post.
I was going through my pictures and saw this. I'm sure I've posted it before, maybe twice before,
but I laugh everytime I see it!
It reminds me of my father. He would spend hours in the bathroom after the 11:00 news every night.
Just as soon as we'd here hims say"weeeell, and stretch, we'd all scramble for the bathroom knowing that will be our last chance for at least an hour. I don't think he could read the paper without sitting on the toilet.
And that cat....well it looks so comfortable, you know he has been there for awhile!
HAHAHAHA
Y'all have a great week!
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you,
but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?
What's with that anyway???

Living My Life Sober And Working The 12 AA Steps Daily
Today I did something that was kind of hard and awkward, I made an ammends to someone that I did something to 40 years ago!
I have been sober for 17 years, (18 June 21). Part of staying sober is "working the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous". I saw an old friend from school at Church last week and asked her what kind of perfume she was wearing. She told me, Ralph by Ralph Lauren.
I bought a bottle of it then wrote her this letter and presented it to her today at Church.
Hi,
This is awkward to write, so please have patience with me.
To make a long story short,
40 years ago I was a 15 year old girl when I moved to Coupeville High School after being kicked out of Oak Harbor High School for stealing. I didn’t know anyone at the new school and was rather lonely. I hung around the “rowdy” kids and had a bad reputation.
I stole a few things and then decided it was not a good thing to do so I straightened up in the summer of my Sophomore/Junior year.
I graduated and worked as a waitress, then traveled around. I got pregnant at the age of 20 and had a stillborn. I continued working in bars and drank quite a lot! I got married in 1974 and we moved around and I continued drinking and working bars.
We moved back home and I continued working bars and drinking.
I sobered up in June 1987, left my husband in July 1987, and got my job at Island Transit in November 1987. Quite the year! During my sobering up period I attended Alcoholics Anonymous (which I still attend). Part of growing and sobering in AA is working the 12 steps.
Step 1 We admitted we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable.
Step 2 Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Step 3 Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
Step 4 Made a searching and fearless inventory of ourselves.
Step 5 Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
Step 6 Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
Step 7 Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
Step 8 Made a list of all persons we harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. (sigh, this is where you come into the picture).
I stole some perfume from your purse in 1965. I had no idea why I did it or even whose purse it was, but I did it. I remember Gary yelling in the hall that I stole your perfume! I was mortified that anyone even thought I did it! I cannot remember what kind it was, but I think that is the last time I stole something from anyone!
I ask your forgiveness.
Step 9 Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
So please accept this bottle of perfume from me as an amends!!
~Phyllis ~
She read the note then looked at me and said "I had no idea"! We both hugged and cried. She tried to give the perfume back to me but I would not accept it!
I feel so good now after giving her that note and perfume, I want to go get drunk!!
JUST KIDDING!!! HAHAHAHA
But that is a very important part of staying sober. Making ammends and forgiving.
I just had to share this with all my friends here!
LIFE IS GOOD!!
If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables,
then what is baby oil made from?

Another Beautiful day in Paradise!
I was training a new driver today and decided to pull the bus over and take this shot of the ferry leaving the Island heading over to the Penninsula to Port Townsend.
Pretty view of the Olympic Mountains, huh? Victoria BC is to the right and about 30 miles away. (Hi vegasbaby)!
This is absolutely God's Country here.
Ahhhh, I love it here!
Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?

Think Spring!
Think Spring Indeed!
We are mowing our yards already, (I say “we” like I am out there with my mower…hahahaha ….I hire out)! The stores are selling Primroses and everyone is getting the Spring Fever bug! Well actually it is the Flu!
In truth, we are in the middle of Winter when the Spring Equinox isn’t until March 20th , which happens to be Palm Sunday. I just wanted an excuse to post this picture of the doggie all dressed up in his Sunday best! HAHAHAHA What humans do to their dogs!
I’ve had the picture for months waiting until Spring to post it!
Today my sister called me and told me to listen for the thunder. She lives 6 miles from me and I heard it as we were talking. I looked West and saw some nasty ole dark clouds which tells me vegasbaby is probably having the same weather. She lives about 50 miles NorthWest of us as the crow flies, but it takes a long drive and ferry rides to get there.
Hope everyone had a marvelous weekend!
Ahhh, tomorrow is Monday!!!
(sigh)
If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares,
then why is there a song about him?

It won't be long!
Well It won't be long before we are dive bombed by these little hummers everytime we go outside!
I like to "think spring" about now. It is going to freeze again tonight. It got down to 26 degrees last night and the night before. It is 33 degrees right now and 8:15 pm.
Okay, I'm ready for Spring and all the flowers! The pussy willows are out and bursting about now. I sneezed all day. I will need to go buy some Zyrtec to keep the sneezes down.
I have been getting allrgy shots for three years now so I should be ok this Spring.
My friend Debbie is turning 50 Friday and a friend of ours put her picture in the paper along with a caption " I'm turning 50 today!!" She called me today devestated!! She says everyone will think I am so vain now!! She is a very pretty gal and a great picture of her. So we sure had a good laugh over that!!
Time for bed. Everyone have a great Thursday!
Did ya ever wonder Who was the first person to look at a cow and say,
"I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?"
EEEEYYYUUUUU!

Chantico Chocolate!
For more than ninety percent of its more than 1,500 year history,
chocolate was consumed as a beverage
The name “Chantico” comes from the Aztec goddess of hearth and fire.
Chantico was said to provide homes with warm comfort and heat for cooking.
All chocolate originates from the Cacao (kah-KOW) tree
and thrives only in regions within 15 degrees of the equator.
Chocolate was believed to be the favored drink of the Mayan Gods (circa 250-900 A.D.)
For the Aztec culture (circa 1200-1521 A.D.), chocolate was a luxury item and often used as currency.
Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, chocolate houses in Europe
catered to the upper and noble classes with this traditional beverage.
In other words, NUMMY!
So many people talk about their chocolate cravings, so I'll tell ya, if you live near a Starbuck's, go there and ask for a "Chantico". It is 6 ounces of thick hot chocolate!! 7 ounces would make you sick it is so rich!
Try it!
~People our age can still enjoy an active, passionate sex life!
Provided we get cable or that dish thing. ~

Never be Afraid to Say What You Feel!
Ahh, I had to share this with everyone!
I just wonder how long that little dog lived after the picture was taken? HAHAHAHA
That's all I have to post today. I am going to bed and wake up when I want to and not to a danged alarm clock!!
Tomorrow night I go to my sister's house and eat dinner that she will cook for me and beat her in Scrabble!
Come on over and play!!
~My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be. ~

It's My Birthday!!
Boy, I feel SPOILED!!!
Thank you everyone for the special birthday wishes, and a few surprises in the mail!!
My sister brought a big birthday cake to the office and everyone sang and had fun. She made two more pages for my scrap book!
She also made my Birthday Card!
She made me cry...here is what it said:
Sisters are the best of friends,
They really can't be beat,
But none are wonderful as you,
So pretty or so sweet.
(sniff)
Your gentle wit and wisdom
Can comfort and enrich.
So on your birthday, Phyllis....
:

:
:
Try not to be a bitch!
Mary Lou
:
:
:
Now who can say they have such a thoughtful sister as I do?
Kim & Kristal are pretty close, but they don't match Mary Lou!!
Thanks, Sis!!
~Any woman can have the body of a 21-year-old,
as long as she buys him a few drinks first. ~

White Black Bear!!
Is this too cute or what?
I wonder if the other bears will make fun of him like the Reindeer make fun of Rudolph?
This was sent to me via e-mail unknown origin, but the picture has a date on it of 6/6/04.
THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN NEAR GORDON, WI
Not just any mother bear and her cub, but a black bear with a white cub.
I don't know how rare it is for a black bear to have a white cub but at least we can say we've seen it no matter how rare it is!
Since there seems to be no sign of a pink nose or eyes, I would say that it is not an albino.
I love animal pictures. It's a good thing I don't live in Alaska like I want to, 'cause I'd run right up to the little critter and want to hug it, and end up his mothers dinner!
Not much to say today, so bye for now...
Laugh and the world laughs with you.
Cry and you cry with your girlfriends.
-Laurie Kuslansky-
P.S.
For the "Rest of the Story" go to this site. How sad!!
Thank you Barbara!
